A 99-year-old Iowa woman has finally earned her high school diploma.

Audrey Crabtree, of Cedar Falls, dropped out of Waterloo East High School more than 80 years ago when she was just one credit shy of graduating, according to The Associated Press. Crabtree left high school in 1932 due to a swimming and diving accident and also to care for her sick grandmother.

Crabtree ran a flower shop for 28 years, married three times and has five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her family and friends surrounded Crabtree as she received her diploma during an education board meeting.

"I feel so much smarter," said Crabtree.
