UPDATED: 12:27 pm CDT September 28, 2006

A convenience store clerk was shot and killed during a robbery on Wednesday, officials told KPRC Local 2.

Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies said a masked man robbed a Chevron station on F.M. 1464 near Bissonnet Street at about 11:45 p.m.

Deputies said surveillance video showed the gunman announced the robbery and demanded cash and cigarettes from the clerk.

Aldaf Maknojia, 24, gave the man all he had and the gunman shot him, officials said.

"This is a very cold and callous crime," Chief Deputy Craig Brady said. "This man was basically executed after fully complying with every demand that was made of him."

Investigators said the gunman was wearing a black top with a full ski mask or a combination of a hoodie and bandana. The shooter wore tan pants and white tennis shoes, officials said.

Investigators said two employees in the back of the store saw the gunman run from the store.

Maknojia's friends and family left flowers in front of the store to remember him.

"Tears was coming at one point when I heard," customer Angela Neveins said. "It's somber. We're neighbors, our kids come here. He's a young guy."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.
