5 Arrested In Pipe Bomb Blast

CONROE, Texas -- Five men and women were arrested on charges in connection with a pipe bomb blast, officials told KPRC Local 2 Friday.Investigators said a pipe bomb was placed underneath a vehicle and detonated on June 22 in the 25800 block of Timberlakes Drive in south Montgomery County. The car was damaged but no one was seriously injured.Deputies searched a home in The Woodlands after the two brothers who lived there were linked to the incident, according to authorities.
"This was a rival of theirs and a former associate, and their intent was to exact some sort of revenge upon him by placing this underneath his vehicle," Montgomery County fire marshal Jimmy Williams said.Officials said they found drugs, firearms and components needed for building the explosive device.Skyler Rice, 23; Ian Rice, 21; Douglas Harvey, 23; William White, 41; and Brittney Davis, 21, were charged with conspiracy to build or possess a destructive device, and manufacture and possession of a destructive device.Rice, a convicted felon, was also arrested for possessing a loaded pistol. His brother Ian Rice was arrested on drug possession charges.Authorities described the suspects as Aryan sympathizers with a history of criminal activity."This is just a group of people that could happen really in any area that they got together and in furtherance of their own criminal activity. They were doing all these things in support of their …. basically, the primary business appeared to be trafficking in drugs," Williams said.The suspects could face additional state counts including weapons and drug charges.
