Man Wanted In Connection With 32 Robberies

HOUSTON -- Surveillance pictures of a man wanted in connection with 32 robberies were released Tuesday, KPRC Local 2 reported.Houston police released the pictures to ask the public to help identify the man who is possibly responsible for a string of robberies in Houston, Fort Bend County and Harris County.Officials said the man has robbed beauty supply stores, gas stations and Dollar and 99 Cents stores since March.Police said most of the robberies have occurred on Mondays between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m."He'll hit a business at times when it's not the busiest," Detective Jeff Miller said. "He'll usually hit businesses that don't have a lot of employees."Officials said the robber enters the business alone and takes an item to the register. The robber usually shows the clerk a black, semi-automatic handgun tucked in the waistband of his pants and demands money.The robber normally puts the money in his pocket and leaves the store on foot, officials said.Police said the robber is black with a fair to dark complexion, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and 20 to 30 years old. Several witnesses reported that the man spoke with a Louisiana-style accent.Investigators said the man was last seen wearing a red T-shirt with white printing on the front. Witnesses in two of the robberies described printing on the man's shirt as Rocawear. The robber has also worn black Oakland Raiders football jerseys with the number 80. He was once seen wearing a jersey with the number 18, police said.Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.List of Related Incidents
