Home Catches Fire For Second Time In 6 Months

Arson Unit Called In To Investigate

POSTED: Monday, July 24, 2006
UPDATED: 8:30 am CDT July 24, 2006

A home caught fire for the second time in six months Sunday, officials told KPRC Local 2.

Firefighters said they found heavy flames shooting from the home on Madrid Street at Ward Street at about 11 p.m.

The home was under construction to repair damage from the first fire, officials said. There was no electricity running to the home.

Officials said materials used in the repairs may have sparked the fire.

"They had a lot of renovation out here," said District Chief Wallace Page with the Houston Fire Department. "Possibly with some paint cans or something like that. We're just not sure yet."

Investigators will search for the exact cause of the blaze.

No injuries were reported.
