HOUSTON -- A man was shot to death and a bystander was wounded outside a southwest Houston nightclub Wednesday, KPRC Local 2 reported.
The shooting happened just after 2:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Max's Nightclub, located at 9371 Richmond Ave.
Investigators said two men got into an altercation inside the nightclub and the fight resumed outside.
According to a witness, one of the men pulled out a gun and fired it several times. The other man sustained several gunshot wounds and died at the scene.
One of the bullets also struck a male bystander in the right leg. He was treated and released at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.
The gunman escaped.
The nightclub recently had cameras installed around the premises, so officials will check to see if the shooting was caught on tape.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
