Construction Closes Katy Freeway Lanes This Weekend

Eastbound Lanes Closed All Weekend

Construction crews will close lanes and ramps on the Katy Freeway this weekend, KPRC Local 2 reports.

The eastbound lanes of the Katy Freeway will be closed between Silber Road and Washington Avenue beginning at 9 p.m. Friday. The lanes will reopen to traffic at 5 a.m. Monday.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if at all possible.

Several of the direct connect ramps between the Katy Freeway and West Loop will also close this weekend.

The direct connect ramp from the Katy Freeway westbound to the West Loop southbound will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday. Motorists should detour to the West Loop northbound, exit at 18th Street, U-turn and enter the West Loop southbound.

The West Loop northbound direct connect ramp to the Katy Freeway westbound will be closed nightly on Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists should exit at 18th Street, U-turn, enter the West Loop southbound and exit onto the Katy Freeway westbound.

The direct connect ramp from the Katy Freeway eastbound to the West Loop northbound will be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday. Motorists should detour to the West Loop southbound, exit San Felipe Street, U-turn and enter the West Loop northbound.
