Foul play was believed to be involved in the disappearance of a 23-year-old Sugar Land woman and a 17-year-old male from Houston who were apparently carjacked, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday.

Maria Chrisalee Aparece was last seen on Sunday at 1 a.m. when she left her family's home and drove to Houston to return keys to a friend, Huy Ngo, who also disappeared.

Aparece's credit and debit cards have been used at several locations, including gas stations and restaurants, officials said.

The car that Aparece was driving was recovered on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. in Humble. Four people were arrested as suspects in the carjacking of the couple.

The Harris County Sheriff's Department said they admitted to the using the car in a crime spree but said they left Aparece and Ngo safely on the side of the road.

"They took the car away from the two individuals but they left them in good shape," Fort Bend County Sheriff Milton Wright said.

Investigators said the vehicle was used in a home invasion and aggravated assaults.

Aparece's family is planning to search the area with EquuSearch where the couple was last seen.

"We're hoping for the best, but I'm ready to prepare for whatever outcome -- it might not be what you want, but we are ready. We just want her home," aunt Angelita Apaceece-Anduyan said.

"I just want to see her. If she can come home, that would be the best thing to ever happen," father Protasio Aparece said. "I don't know. She just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office at (281) 341-4665.
