HOUSTON -- A terminal at Bush Intercontinental airport was evacuated when it filled with smoke Wednesday, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Officials said Terminal C was closed when a fire broke out at a Taco Bell on the concourse at about 3:30 a.m.
Fire crews were able to quickly put out the flames.
Most of the people inside the building were employees, but a few passengers arrived early for their flights.
"We thought it would be a good idea to get here early," said Terry Brady, who was traveling to Philadelphia. "It wasn't, so we're standing out here with all our baggage."
The north side of the concourse opened just after 5 a.m. The south side remained closed while crews work to clear the smoke.
An airport spokeswoman said no flights are affected.
No injuries were reported.
