Houston Police Involved In 3 Chases In 4 Hours

No Injuries Reported

Houston police were busy with three chases in four hours on Wednesday and Thursday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Police said the first chase began in the 10200 block of Beechnut Street near South Course Drive at about 9:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers said the man tried to buy drugs from an undercover officer.

The man pulled over and surrendered a short time later.

Officials said the second chase was with a group of teenagers who may have beaten and robbed a man on Alberta Street near Tierwester Street at about 10:40 p.m. Wednesday

Police said two people bailed out of the Dodge Durango they were riding in just before the driver hit a pickup truck on Peerless Street near Dixie Street.

The 16-year-old driver was taken into custody. The two others escaped on foot.

Officials said the man who was beaten and robbed was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in serious condition.

Police said the third chase was with a motorcycle on the North Freeway near West Mt. Houston Road at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday.

Officials said they were able to pull the rider over for speeding a short time later.

No one was injured as a direct result of any of the chases.

Charges are pending against all of the drivers.
