Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott is suing a man who may have sold sick puppies in the Houston area, KPRC Local2 reported.

Abbott said Jesse Vazquez sold several dying puppies at his store in McAllen to customers, telling them the puppies were in good health.

Officials said more than 20 puppies have become seriously ill and many have died.

Abbott said Vazquez may have sold some of the ill puppies at Houston flea markets.

Consumers who believe they may have purchased a sick puppy from Vazquez may file a complaint by calling the Office of the Attorney General at 1-800-252-8011.
