Police: Attorney Kidnapped At Gunpoint Found Safe

POSTED: Wednesday, May 31, 2006

U.S. marshals said that a woman whose abduction was captured live on a security video tape recording was found at a Comfort Inn motel in Birmingham late Wednesday.

The missing woman was found by police in a room, tied up with a sheet on top of her, WVTM-TV in Birmingham reported.

Police were also able to recover money that was withdrawn from her account at three ATMs earlier Wednesday.

Police said she was abducted near her apartment about 8:30 a.m.

She told police a gunman approached her and forced her into a vehicle.

Authorities searched all afternoon for the 34-year-old attorney, who practices family law.

They said there was activity on her account at three area branches of AmSouth bank following the abduction.
