Money, Prescription Drugs Stolen From CVS Store

Robbers On The Loose

POSTED: Thursday, May 25, 2006

A CVS drug store was robbed by five masked robbers overnight, KPRC Local 2 reported.

The robbers stormed into the store on Richmond Drive near Highway 6 at about 3 a.m.

The store's supervisor said the robbers forced him to open all the registers and safes inside the store.

Officials said the robbers got away with cash and prescription drugs.

"They disconnected every phone, they took my wallet and they took my cell phone," store supervisor Mohammed Arefin said. "I'm going home to cancel my credit cards."

Arefin said the robbers pointed pistols and at least one machine gun directly at him.

Arefin and the two other employees inside the store at the time of the robbery were not injured.

No customers were inside the store, which is open 24 hours a day.

Police said the men were in and out of the store in about four minutes.

Investigators are looking at surveillance video to try to identify the robbers.

Police said they believe this robbery may be connected to a recent rash of CVS store robberies in the area. They said three other stores have been robbed in the last week.
