HOUSTON -- A three-alarm fire ignited at an industrial complex Friday afternoon, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Fire crews were called to Systems Seal in the 11800 block of West Little York in northwest Harris County at about 3:45 p.m. Thick smoke was billowing into the air from around the building.
Firefighters had trouble getting water on the blaze because of its location. It was a 1/4 mile from the nearest water source. Several different departments were sent to the scene. The fire was brought under control about an hour after it started.
The building contained fiberglass and fiberglass spray-on products, which is used for insulation and construction. The material is flammable, but not considered hazardous.
Traffic on West Little York was blocked off during the emergency.
There are no reports of injuries.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
