Shred Documents For Free This Weekend

POSTED: Friday, May 12, 2006

An event will be held this weekend in an effort to crack down on identity theft.

Documents will be shredded into confetti at no cost at the following locations Saturday.

  • Wallisville Courthouse Annex, 14350 Wallisville Road, 9 a.m. until noon
  • Community National Bank, 5235 Bellaire Blvd.

Residents should bring items such as old credit card statements, utility bills, medical records and tax records. There is a limit of five boxes.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office teamed up with the company, Shred-It, to offer the service.
