BCSO: Nearly $800,000 worth of marijuana found

BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas – A 911 call about possible gunshots led Brazoria County investigators to find nearly $800,000 worth of marijuana.

A neighbor called for help Sunday after hearing three gunshots in the 2200 block of County Road 155 near Alvin, authorities said. 

It turned out that no gunshots had been fired, but the neighbor had heard a group of men breaking in next door.

Responding officers soon called in the narcotics division, which got a warrant to search two nearby metal buildings.

According to the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office, authorities discovered nearly 500 fully-grown marijuana plant that has a street value of nearly $800,000.

Detectives said they confiscates about $700,000 worth of growing equipment.

It's not yet clear who owns the building. 

No arrests have been made.
