Lightning Sparks 2 House Fires

HOUSTON -- Lightning was blamed for sparking two house fires when severe weather moved in overnight, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.The first blaze happened shortly after 2:30 a.m. in Cy-Fair, in northwest Harris County.Officials said a lightning strike hit the roof of a home in the 16000 block of Kyle Crest Trail near Timberline Trail.
The damage was contained to the roof.The second fire occurred a short time later in Spring at a home on Tuckahoe near Bellchase.Witnesses said smoke came from the master bedroom and roof.No one was injured in either fire.
