A man pushing his lawnmower across a northeast Houston street Sunday night was struck by two cars, but only one of the drivers stopped to help him.

Officers with the Houston Police Department said someone driving a dark-colored vehicle hit the 60-year-old man in the 11000 block of Homestead Road near Mohawk Street at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Moments later, the driver of a sport utility vehicle hit the man; however, that driver stopped and called for help.

The man was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in critical condition and was placed on life support.
