HOUSTON -- A town hall meeting is being held Wednesday night to discuss plans for METRO's light-rail system's westward expansion.
The train will connect Main Street in downtown Houston to Post Oak Boulevard in the Galleria, but where it will be built has not yet been decided.
METRO has proposed building the track along Westpark Drive or Richmond Avenue.
Wednesday's meeting will be held at Poe Elementary, located at 5100 Hazard St. in southwest Houston, at 6:30 p.m.
The meeting will be the second in a series of public discussions concerning the expansion plans. Once a plan is approved, the project could break ground in 2008 and be in operation by 2012.
