Police Nab Robbery Suspects In Store's Ceiling

Officers Determine Robbers Entered Store Through Roof

POSTED: Wednesday, March 29, 2006
UPDATED: 7:22 am CST March 29, 2006

Police caught two burglary suspects Wednesday morning hiding in the ceiling of a southeast Houston liquor store, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Officers said the burglar alarm inside the King Liquor store on Cullen Boulevard near Calhoun Road sounded at about 2 a.m.

Although police found a hole in the roof and heard some noise coming from the attic, officers discovered the suspects were unable to flee the building before they arrived.

A K-9 unit and a police helicopter helped officers find the suspects. One suspect was arrested shortly after officers arrived. The other suspect was taken into custody three hours later after officers pulled him from the ceiling. Neither suspect was injured during the robbery or their arrest.

Police said the suspects would be charged with burglary of a business.
