HOUSTON -- A high-speed police chase ended in a southwest Houston front yard Monday morning, narrowly missing a house, KPRC Local 2 reported.
It began when an officer pulled over a male driver at about 3 a.m. The man took off when the car came back as reported stolen, investigators said.
During the chase, the officer lost control of his patrol car in the 8900 block of Bellaire Boulevard at Pella as he made a turn.
"The suspect made a quick right turn. The officer, at that time, attempted to make the turn, lost control, struck the flower bed and also a tree," an HPD officer said.
The patrol car stopped on a lawn.
Another officer apprehended the suspect.
"We don't know at this time if any alcohol was related to this incident. The suspect is being taken to get (identified) and booked," the officer said.
The driver faces felony evading charges.
No one was injured.
