HOUSTON -- Houston Mayor Pro Tem Carol Alvarado hired some high profile help Monday as her office comes under fire for four employees who received bonuses that seem to be out of line.
Alvarado has hired Rusty Hardin, one of Houston's more famous legal faces, and Joe Householder, the former communications director for Sen. Hilary Rodham Clinton.
Householder said he does not believe Alvarado did anything wrong.
"I'm totally comfortable that she has done absolutely nothing wrong herself. But, she's very upset about what happened and she's trying to find out. She wants some help in finding out what did happen," Householder said.
Hardin, who was in Washington D.C. on Monday and Tuesday in regard to the Anna Nicole Smith case going before the U.S. Supreme Court, said when he returns to Houston he will help Alvarado sort through interviews with investigators and documents connected to $130,000 in bonuses given to four of Alvarado's workers.
Alvarado had an hour-long meeting with investigators on Monday without Hardin by her side.
