Houston police said the driver of a Dodge Ram pickup truck was towing a black GMC Envoy with a tow cable, while driving in the 4800 block of Firmat Street. Police said the driver had left the stop sign and crossed the intersection of Lockwood when the Envoy was struck by a blue Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Police said the 74-year-old motorcyclist was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Dodge Ram stayed on the scene and did not seem to be impaired, but was arrested for outstanding city warrants, police said.

Investigators said the motorcyclist's view may have been blocked by a wooden fence on Lockwood Drive and may not have seen the Envoy in the intersection.
