Popular Entertainment Center Turns Into Crime Scene

HOUSTON -- A popular northwest Houston entertainment complex became the scene of a slaying Wednesday night after a man was found fatally shot in the parking lot, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Police responded to a call at the Marq*E Entertainment Center on Silver Road and Interstate 10 West shortly after 9 p.m. and found a man fatally shot one time in the back in the parking lot near Drink Houston.

Investigators said they are having a difficult time getting details from witnesses.

"People were essentially ear witnesses who heard the shot and saw him fall, called 911," Houston Police Department Officer Mike Walker said.

Witnesses said they saw a black four-door car and a white four-door car leaving the scene. However, they were unable to provide any descriptions of the people inside the cars.

The victim's name has not been released.

Drink Houston, which is only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, was closed at the time.
