HOUSTON -- Thieves stole several artifacts from a display case at the Harris County Criminal Courthouse over the weekend.
The stolen items rich in Houston history include an 1831 dime, an 1852 silver half dollar and an old doll.
"When they did an archeological survey of the land they were going to use to build the criminal justice center on, criminal justice courthouse, and these items were found during the excavation," Harris County Precinct 1 Constable's Office Chief J.C. Mosier said.
However, Mosier said the thieves wouldn't get rich trying to sell the loot.
Anyone with information should call the Precinct 1 Constable's Office at (713) 755-5200.
