Authorities Have Not Said If Suspect Being Chased Was Caught

POSTED: Monday, January 23, 2006

A Houston police officer crashed his sport utility vehicle into a car during a short chase in southwest Houston Monday morning.

The chase ended at San Felipe Street and Voss Road shortly after 2 a.m.

Authorities said the chase had just begun when the officer struck a car driven by Nathan Mize.

"He was going into a high-speed pursuit, obviously from what I heard, and ran a red light and hit me," Mize said.

No injuries were reported.

Police have not said why they were chasing the suspect or if the chase suspect was apprehended.
