Authorities Treating Doctor's Disappearance As Homicide

Husband Offers $10,000 Reward For Info That Leads To Arrest, Conviction

The search for a missing chiropractor and mother of a 2-year-old boy intensified Tuesday when her husband offered a reward for information in her disappearance, which police are now treating as a homicide, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Dr. Thomas Superville last saw his wife, Melinda, walking to their chiropractic office in the 2000 block of Antoine Drive near Hempstead Highway in northwest Houston on Friday.

The husband told investigators he found his wife's keys hanging from the front door of their office hours later and believes she might have been abducted while walking to her home a block away.

Melinda Superville's mother, Betty Breaz, said she is relying on her church for support and remains optimistic that her daughter will be found.

"I can't go there because this is too repulsive, too sorrowful. It is just so depleting of my spirit," Breaz told KPRC Local 2. "If it was at all possible to reach us, Melinda would have called somebody and let us know that she was OK … maybe not tell us where she was, but she would tell us she was OK because she loves us so much."

Family and friends have posted fliers throughout Houston with hope they will generate leads.

St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church Rev. Tom Rafferty said the parish is in pain.

"The history of cases like this is that some turn out well, some people are found, some are not. We want to keep our hopes up but we will always, no matter what the circumstances are, we are going to trust in God," Rafferty said.

The church is planning on holding a candlelight vigil for Melinda Superville on Sunday.

Superville was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Thomas Superville is offering a $10,000 reward for any information about his wife's disappearance.

Anyone with information should call the Houston Police Department's Missing Persons Unit at (713) 731-5223 or Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.
