HOUSTON -- Authorities question two women about an accident that killed a bicyclist in northwest Harris County Thursday morning, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Department said two women in a pickup truck drove away after striking the bicyclist shortly after 1 a.m. on Snake River Road at Park Row.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Alcohol is involved in the crash -- may be involved on the driver of the vehicle and on the deceased," Harris County Sheriff's Department Deputy Dan Drake said.
Deputies found the women in a nearby neighborhood and brought them back to the accident scene for questioning.
"We did find the vehicle in a nearby residential neighborhood. It does have evidence on the vehicle," Drake said.
Investigators performed a field sobriety test on one of the women. She was then placed in handcuffs on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Authorities have not said if the woman would be charged.
The victim was only identified as a man in his 30s who lived in the neighborhood.
