HOUSTON - Several people were hurt in a hit-and-run wreck on Friday afternoon.
Houston police said a speeding driver slammed into the back of a Honda Civic on Airline near the North Freeway about 1:50 p.m.
The impact caused the driver of the Civic to lose control and hit a tree, investigators said.
Five people inside the car, including a 3-year-old, were taken to hospitals. The extent of their injuries has not been released, but investigators said the injuries were not life-threatening.
The driver who hit the Civic did not stop, police said. The car was described as a green Buick Park Avenue.
