4th beauty supply store burglary in 8 days

HOUSTON – For the 4th time in eight days, burglars looted a beauty supply store in the Houston area Thursday morning.

The owners of Brashaes Beauty Supplies said they woke up around 2:45 a.m., when their alarm system alerted them to the break-in.

Houston police responded to the store on Westheimer Road near George Bush Park, but the thieves had already left.

The burglars left behind a mess, not only in the beauty supply store, but also in a storage area next door.

The two men, wearing bandanas and hats, busted the lock of the neighboring business and cut a hole in the wall. They pulled out the drywall and insulation before crawling into the beauty supply store.

Once inside, the thieves army-crawled all the way to the counter in the back of the store. They then began stuffing hair extensions into garbage bags.

The owners of the store said it appeared the men knew which extensions were the most expensive. The two thieves grabbed handfuls of hair worth between $90 and $100, while avoiding more inexpensive merchandise.

The owners told officers that this was the fourth time burglars had broken into the family-owned business since the store first opened.

This was also the fourth time in a little more than a week that thieves broke into a beauty supply store.

In those three instances, a large group of men used a truck to break into K Y Fashion, Beauty Sensation, and Sense Beauty Supply.
