Witnesses Say They Heard Argument Take Place Before Gun Fired

HOUSTON -- A man could be charged with murder after his girlfriend was found shot to death inside their apartment, police said Monday.Witnesses told officers with the Houston Police Department that they heard the couple arguing at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday inside their apartment on Tidwell Road and Shady Drive, shortly before gunshots were fired.Police said the man was last seen leaving the complex in a mid-'90s Mercury Sable with paper tags.Officers said some children inside the apartment when the shooting occurred were not injured. They have been placed in the care of their biological father.Authorities have not released the identities of the victim or the gunman.
