Houstonians want to help and their help is needed at two of the state's largest evacuation centers, Local 2 reported Friday.

Volunteers are needed at the Astrodome. They should go to the Main Street Yellow Lot.

Volunteers will work various shifts covering all hours after a short training session.

City officials also asked for volunteers at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston, which was turned into a shelter Friday.

Those interested should go to the Polk Street parking lot. Volunteers will be asked to work four-hour shifts.

Donations are no longer needed at both the Dome and the convention center. Please do not drop them off there until requested.
