Officer Charged With Wife's Murder
Investigators: Physical Evidence Linked Suspect To Crime

HOUSTON -- A Houston Community College police officer was charged Friday afternoon with the murder of his wife, who was found shot to death in their northwest Harris County driveway, officials told Local 2.Deputies with the Precinct 5 Harris County Sheriff's Department arrived at the home in the 22800 block of Leedstown near Anthony Hay at about 3:25 a.m. after gunshots were reported to 911. They found the body of Sylvia Caballero, 42.
"She had apparently been shot at least one time. It appears to be close range," Harris County Sheriff's Department Lt. John Martin said.Detectives questioned the woman's husband, Jesse Caballero, 45, who was inside the home when the shooting occurred. After questioning, Caballero was charged with murder.Investigators told Local 2 that they connected him to the crime by physical evidence.
