Prosecutor To Reenter Private Practice To Fund Daughters' Educations

HOUSTON -- Local 2 has learned that the top federal prosecutor for southeast Texas, Michael Shelby, has resigned as U.S. attorney.
President George W. Bush appointed Shelby in December 2001.Shelby staff members told Local 2 that the attorney said he needed to reenter private practice so that he can fund his two daughters' college educations.Shelby has not yet announced where he will work.
