HOUSTON -- A speeding driver allegedly opened fire on an officer in southeast Houston Thursday morning before attempting to flee the scene, police told Local 2.Police said an officer tried to pull over a car speeding on Interstate 45 at about 2 a.m.The officer said the driver pulled over near Almeda Genoa. Before the officer approached the vehicle, he said the suspect fired a shot into the air.Police said the suspect tried to run, but police dogs tracked him down hiding in a ditch full of water.Charges are pending.
