Police: Driver Pulled Over For Speeding Fires Gun

Dogs Find Suspect On Run Hiding In Ditch Full Of Water

A speeding driver allegedly opened fire on an officer in southeast Houston Thursday morning before attempting to flee the scene, police told Local 2.

Police said an officer tried to pull over a car speeding on Interstate 45 at about 2 a.m.

The officer said the driver pulled over near Almeda Genoa. Before the officer approached the vehicle, he said the suspect fired a shot into the air.

Police said the suspect tried to run, but police dogs tracked him down hiding in a ditch full of water.

Charges are pending.
