Gunshots Hit Mother In Stomach, Teen In Face

HOUSTON -- Police have identified but have not arrested a man who they said shot a teen in the face and a woman in the stomach through the bedroom of a southwest Houston home Wednesday morning, Local 2 reported.
The attack happened at about 1 a.m. inside the woman's home on Wilbriar at McCullum."We heard the back window break and two gunshots. My niece ran into the room and said she was shot. We called the police," witness Laverne Wilson said.Wilson's 28-year-old niece was shot in the stomach and a 17-year-old boy, identified only as a family friend, was shot in the face."I am just shocked … terrified and angry because you always see this happening in other places but you never think it would happen to someone that you love and who is close to your family," Wilson said.Police said the woman told them the shooter was her ex-boyfriend, who is the father of the woman's son.The mother and the 17-year-old boy were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. The teen was listed in stable condition. The mother underwent surgery. Both are expected to recover.Authorities have not said why the victims were shot or what charges the suspect could face.
