HOUSTON -- A North Forest Independent School District biology teacher was arrested after police found hundreds of child pornography images on his computer, Local 2 reported Monday.
Investigators said 40-year-old Melvin Johnson, of Baytown, viewed and saved child pornography on his home computer.
Police said the Smiley High School teacher collected the images from a child porn subscription Web site. They also found videotapes Johnson had taken of young girls in public places.
"The images are very disturbing. The images are of underage children. They are children involved in sexual activity that adults would engage in and that's very, very disturbing," Houston FBI special agent Al Tribble told Local 2.
If convicted, Johnson faces between five and 20 years in prison for receiving child pornography, as well as a $250,000 fine. He faces up to 10 years in prison for the possession charge.
Johnson was released from jail on a $70,000 bond.
