Homeowner Opens Fire First, Men Return Fire Before Leaving

HOUSTON -- A gunfight broke out between two would-be robbers and a man trying to defend his Fort Bend County home Tuesday morning, officials told Local 2.
Authorities said two men confronted a man outside his mobile home on Sycamore near Verbena at about 1 a.m.Investigators said the homeowner fired the first shot. The attempted robbers shot back but fled the scene before authorities arrived at the scene.The homeowner was injured in the shootout. Officials said they are not sure if the robbers were injured.K-9 units helped search for the two men, who remain on the run.
