The accident happened on Highway 290 at Berendo Street at about 11 p.m.Police said the driver of the red car lost control of his vehicle as he attempted to go around another car at the exit ramp to West 43rd Street at a high rate of speed."The car passed me on my right side at a high rate of speed, lost control, hit the curb and at that point he tumbled and hit the owner of this home's fence and slid on its top," witness Dennis Rogers said.The driver was taken to Ben Taub Hospital.
