4 deaths in NW Harris County home ruled homicide; victims shot in head

HOUSTON – There are new details in the case of the family of four found dead in a northwest Harris County home last week.

On the night of Jan. 30, deputies responded to a residence in the 14000 block of Fosters Creek for a welfare check after a friend said the husband had not been to work in a few days.

Deputies say they found the bodies of four people -- two parents and two children -- in the home. All suffered gunshot wounds to the head.

The medical examiner says the two adults were shot once and the two children were each shot twice.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences Monday said all the cases have been ruled homicides. The victims' identities have still not been released.

The husband and wife were Chinese immigrants and they had two young sons who attended nearby Sampson Elementary School. Family friends say one boy was in second grade and the other was in fourth grade.

Neighbors described the boys as sweet and kind. They often saw them playing outside with their friends or riding their bikes through the neighborhood.

People have left behind photos, teddy bears and balloons to share their grief. Neighbors, who are too shaken up to speak to Local 2 on camera, also are expressing shock.

Off camera, neighbors called this latest news concerning and troubling, and they say it's robbed them off their sense of security. Neighbors say they have no idea why this happened.

Harris County Sheriff's Office investigators say they are not releasing details at this point to preserve the integrity of the investigation.

A makeshift memorial has been set up for the family.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS or submit a tip via iWatchHarrisCounty.
