4 dead, including 1 child, in Bastrop County apartment complex shooting

Deputies say shooter is dead

BASTROP, Texas – Four people, including a child, are dead after a shooting at an apartment complex Saturday night in Bastrop County.

Deputies said someone called them about gunfire at the Arbors at Bastrop apartment complex on Childers Drive at around 6:15 p.m. When they arrived, deputies said they found four people dead, including the shooter.

The sheriff said among the dead is a man, two women and a child.

Investigators are working to determine how the shooter died.

Paramedics took another child to a hospital with minor injuries.

Witnesses described a terrifying scene.

"I hear three shots, two into my apartment. One broke my window, in my wall and door. And I see three or four people, and a little boy all a blur. So I'm scared," one witness said.

Deputies are not releasing the identities of the dead until their families are notified.

There is no word yet on a motive for the shooting.
