4 armed men rob employees, customers at IHOP in north Houston

HOUSTON – Houston police are searching for suspects who allegedly held up employees and customers at an IHOP in north Houston early Monday.

Police said four men, who were armed with assault rifles and pistols, stormed into the restaurant at 15 E Crosstimbers St. around 4 a.m. They were dressed in all black and had bandanas covering their faces, witnesses said.

The men robbed the customers and employees at gunpoint, then fled in a black SUV.

No shots were fired and no one was injured.

IHOP released the following statement:

"The safety of our guests and our team members is of paramount importance to us and to our franchisees. While we cannot comment on anything related to an ongoing police investigation, our franchisees are cooperating fully with law enforcement."
