Four people have been arrested in connection with the sex assault of a girl in Cleveland, police said Thursday.
Investigators said that over the Thanksgiving holiday, a girl as young as 11 was assaulted by as many as 20 boys or men in an abandoned Liberty County home.
Some Cleveland High School students may have played a role in the sex assault, officials said.
A source close to the investigation told KPRC Local 2 Investigates that during a secret grand jury proceeding on Wednesday, the Liberty County District Attorney's Office presented cases on more suspects, so more charges could be coming.
The names of those arrested have not yet been released.
The girl was removed from school shortly after the rape allegation came to light. She is being taught outside a traditional classroom setting, school officials said.
