Mother Accidentally Runs Over 2-Year-Old Son

Official: Mother's Teenage Sister Was Supposed To Watch Child

POSTED: Tuesday, December 7, 2004

A mother accidentally ran over her son with her sport utility vehicle outside their northeast Harris County home Monday, officials told Local 2.

Stoneshire at Aldine Mail Route, northeast Harris County

Investigators said the mother was leaving her home on Stoneshire at Aldine Mail Route at about 3:30 p.m. to pick up her older child when she struck her younger son as she backed out of the driveway.

Officials said the mother immediately picked the child up, took him inside the home and called police.

Deputies said the mother's teenage sister was supposed to be watching the little boy when he ran out of the home and behind the car.

Authorities pronounced the child dead inside the home.

No charges are expected to be filed in the case.
