Homeowner Shoots Suspected Burglars On Porch
Case To Be Referred To District Attorney
Investigators said the homeowner was home alone in the 17900 block of Chisholm Trail at about 2 p.m. when he heard some noise on his front porch. The homeowner told officials he then grabbed his gun, snuck up on the men and opened fire.He could face charges."It will be something that we'll have to run by the district attorney's office. I'm not so sure that you can start firing at these people just because they're standing on your front porch," said Sgt. Bruce Williams, with the Harris County Sheriff's Department.At least eight shots were fired, according to authorities.The men were taken to Ben Taub Hospital for treatment. They are both expected to survive.The resident said he has been burglarized four times.
