HOUSTON -- A security guard shot a man outside a River Oaks-area shopping center Monday afternoon, Local 2 reported.
Investigators said a man pulled into the parking lot next to the Black Eyed Pea in the River Oaks Shopping Center, 2074 W. Gray at Shepherd, at 3:50 p.m.
He then began urinating on the side of the parking lot, witnesses said. When a female security guard confronted the man, a fight ensued. Police said the man began to assault her and possibly reached for her weapon.The guard opened fire, shooting the man once in the stomach. He is expected to survive, officials said.The guard received minor injuries. She was treated at the scene.Police have not yet decided if charges will be filed.
