36th Annual K-9 fun run pays tribute to KPRC2's weather dog, Radar

HOUSTON – In remembrance of KPRC2's weather dog, Radar, the Houston Humane Society hosted the 36th annual K-9 Fun Run and Walk.

The event took place at Lynn Eusan Park located at 4800 Calhoun Road on the campus of the University of Houston Saturday morning.

The event was a tribute to KPRC2's weather dog, Radar, who was adopted from the Houston Humane Society and passed away in September of last year.

"People participate for various reasons." said Monica Schmidt, of the Houston Humane Society.
"Some walk in memory for a pet they lost, some run for abused animals, and some jog just to
support HHS. It is special to see the community band together for a common cause and raise
awareness for the animals."

Dog owners and their furry friends were able to participate in a 1-mile non-competitive walk /run or just rally together to support the Houston Humane Society, which has been around for more that 50 years.

All funds raised goes towards helping animals find good homes.
