Councilman Pleads Guilty In Alleged 'Sex With Students' Case

Ochoa Faces Up To 45 Days In Prison

A Jacinto City councilman pleaded guilty Monday as he was about to go on trial on sexual abuse charges, News2Houston reported. Claudio Ochoa

Claudio Ochoa Jr. pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge of enticing a child away from custody. He was originally charged with one count of indecency with a child and one count of sexual assault of a child.

He was accused of having sex with two students at Galena Park High School, where he worked as a substitute teacher in April 2003.

Prosecutors said he allegedly led two girls away from the school during lunch.

The Class B misdemeanor includes a maximum 45-day prison sentence.

Sentencing will be held July 9.
