30 shots fired at Fort Bend County home

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – A typically quiet neighborhood was rattled by several rounds of gunfire on Monday night.

"It was scary because I didn't know what was going on," Nan Gale, who lives in the neighborhood, said.

Gale was looking for her dog when the gunfire rang out.

Less than a block away, she caught up with her dog and encountered quite the scene.

"I saw at least half a dozen constables and deputies that were all parked at that corner and that yellow crime tape, Gale said.

Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies say they got the call about possible gunfire at Lake Charlotte Court and Lake Charlotte Lane in the Waterside Estates subdivision.

They quickly responded, and later determined a home had been targeted and as many as 30 shots were fired.

Deputies said no one was injured during the shooting and at this point a motive remains unclear.

The case remains under investigation as neighbors help to spread the word in their community about the shooting that was so close to home.

"Makes you wonder what's going on. I mean what was actually going on? Why were they there? Why were they firing?" Gale asked.
