3 women attacked in less than a week

Police say women were attacked, robbed in same neighborhood

HOUSTON – Houston police are looking for the man responsible for attacking and robbing three women in the same southwest Houston neighborhood in just four days.

A woman was most recently attacked Monday night. It happened outside the Ashford Court Apartments at Ashford Point and Overture just before 11 p.m.

The woman said she got out of her car and was walking to her apartment when a man jumped from around the corner and tried to take her purse. When the woman fought back and held on, the man punched her in the face and ran.

The second attack, also last Thursday, occurred at the Vanderbilt Court Apartments located down the street. In all three incidents, a man has approached from the darkness and either pushed or punched the women before taking their belongings.

Authorities said he's gotten away with a cell phone and two purses. The three attacks have people now taking extra precautions.

"It makes me just, in the mornings, want to watch her to go to her car," said apartment resident Mike Dillon, referring to his wife. "Make sure she gets in it safe to make sure nobody gets her."

Police said they believe the two attacks and robberies last week were committed by the same man. They haven't said the one from Monday is connected, but the actions and description of the suspect is very similar.

Residents said they want the suspect caught fast.

"He's a piece of crap and he needs to go to jail for what he's doing," said Brenda Dillon. "He'll get what's coming to him sooner or later."
